AN INDEPENDENCE THAT WORRIES UNTIL TO THE SPANISH INTELLECTUALITY

Writers, lawyers, political, film directors and economists have subscribed a manifesto in favor of the federalism in front of the secessionist wave fed from CiU and the Catalan Government that Artur Mas presides over. The signatories put of relief that such a bet sovereign can overflow the social uneasiness originated by the economic crisis, and that the independent loads that uneasiness on its matter idea of Spain.

Gentlemen intellectuals and other signatories of this manifesto, the Catalan independent if they refer to us with the independent definition, we don't load our desire of independence to our matter idea of Spain, but to our matter he devises of our national feelings that don't coincide with what Spain seeks that we adopt as own feeling.

Another thing is that it is now the moment that seems more opportune to get a change of postures between Spain and Catalonia, due to the terrible influence of the national economy. If you signatory gentlemen consider that the independents intends to force the democratic law made by all for all" if that give them the reason in this, although not in that of forcing, because here it is not to use any violence, at least for our part not even in the use of the written verb.

The manifesto bets because all the democratic forces look for a better institutional fitting for Catalonia, a fairer financing, and a federalization of the one deteriorated State of the autonomies. Nevertheless, the signatories highlight that, if the feeling national Catalan was supported for the most part in an irreversible way, "the democratic conviction would force to the rest of the Spaniards to take it in consideration to find an appropriate and respectful" solution.

The manifesto that I suppose will have read in the written means, I don't believe it opportune to include here for the extensive thing that it is, he says many things that they are very comfortable of reading for this Catalan that writes them these articles, and this makes me tell them that it is a true pain these things to be said now that maybe there is no longer remedy to the road undertaken by our society and our government, that regrettably the only thing that demonstrates, is that Catalonia the Catalan are right, if Spain knew our feelings, because I avoid them because the hidden one because I take off them, because he has put under an obligation to arrive until here.

In all ways the Spanishness flows of among the concepts poured for example in the manifesto in question: "The statement that Spain perpetrated aggressions against Catalonia it is an unfortunate manipulation of the past that he forgets deliberately how in the conflicts and civil wars in those that the whole country was wrapped up, the Catalan, the same as the rest of the Spaniards, they were divided among the different decrees."

This undoubtedly is this way, but this is what agrees with in fact to the Catalan independents, if it is recognized that both decrees suffered alterations for wars civil and other events, they should understand that in Catalonia we still wait that they are recognized the moral, and historical damages, have more than enough our peculiarity that present has always been. In some articles in that we are attacked, it is said that Catalonia was never a Kingdom, we already know it and that is in fact a sign in our peculiar way of to be and to feel our nationality, but we have always been part of something.

Catalonia was during the Half Age one of the territories that composed the patrimony of the king from Aragon, known by the later historiography as the Crown of Aragon. After the disintegration of the Empire Carolingian the county of Barcelona that had been part of the Hispanic Mark of the Empire, reached a facto independence at the end of the century X, and it was able to contain around him, by means of family bonds or of vassalage, to an important part of the current Catalonia, mainly the counties of Gerona, Osona, Besalú, Cerdanya and Ampurias.

In the XII century, the county of Barcelona and the Kingdom of Aragon they united by means of the engagements agreed among Ramiro II of Aragon and Ramón Berenguer IV of Barcelona en1137, for those that the count from Barcelona would contract marriage with the future Aragonese queen Petronila. At the end the union among the Kingdom of Aragon with that of Castile believes the whole common history that has never been assumed entirely by any of the two parts.

I believe that Catalonia has always been there at the same time with an own and common history it has always been good vassal and always a very important part inside the sustained alliances until the Spanish empire arose that you doesn't conform with having a nation that didn't assume the imperial and national fact as the other Kingdom or regions or like want to call them, but they will never be able to say, (as they don't say it is certain) that Catalonia has been uncompromising or traitor to its duties like citizen neither as nationalist.

Now it seems that forced by the modern economic circumstances Catalonia he means course, we want to leave toward our own destination because we don't believe that Spain is making it well, because its drift returns to the imperial centralism of that Castile that I forge Spain, but that I forget like I have said many times that he didn't make it alone, there were no other Kingdom and other armies and men that combated helping to liberate to the Iberian peninsula, to Spain, of the Arab invasion. At the end you form Spain but it has not been gotten completely, neither everywhere to incorporate the Spanish national feeling that we are claimed almost to the force likes an obligation.
